Applying for your Teacher Training course

Our TEFL courses cater to the needs of UK and international teachers. Choose between UK study locations or online - we are sure to have a solution that meets your ambitions.

1. Eligibility

Candidates should be 18+ before they start, with a good standard of education (e.g. UK university entrance level) and written / spoken English. For non-native speakers, the recommended English level is C2 or high C1 on the CEFR.

2. Enrolment procedure

Once you complete the application form, places are then allocated on the basis of individual interviews. If you don't live near the school, we can arrange Skype interviews.

3. Interview

Candidates should allow up to one hour for the interview. You will be given some language awareness tasks to assess your ability, and tasks to take away so that you are fully prepared.

4. Post-interview

Once you have been accepted on the course, you will need to pay a deposit to secure your place. We ask that you pay the balance of the course fees a minimum of 4 weeks before the start of the course unless you are a late applicant.

5. Assessment

Assessment is made on a continuous basis with emphasis on teaching appropriate lessons effectively. Final grades are in negotiation with an external assessor from Cambridge English.

6. Job opportunities

Our Professional Development sessions give advice and suggestions to future language teachers. Sessions can include ideas for finding suitable jobs, CV advice and applying for work abroad.
