The Cambridge CELTA online course is a learning programme that enables you to complete your CELTA qualification completely online.
You can now complete your teacher training qualification online and in a way that suits your lifestyle. The Online Flexi CELTA allows you to fit your teacher training course around existing commitments as you train for an exciting new career.
Collaborative online study means that trainees complete assignments, online tasks and units and have the advantage of flexibility, choosing where and when it suits them to carry out the work. Community work, including forums and live rooms, is also part of the course.
This course can be completed either fully online or as a Blended Flexi CELTA option where you study online and complete the Teaching Practice in one of our centres. There is no difference in the certification on whether you choose to do online or Blended, it's just a different way of completing your Teaching Practice.

The Online Flexi CELTA course is particularly well-suited for candidates who need the flexibility to fit study around personal commitments, have little or no teaching experience and would like to learn how to teach English to speakers of other languages with an internationally recognised qualification.
Course Outcomes
By choosing the Online Flexi CELTA course you will achieve the following objectives:
- Become confident with the grammar and structure (form), meaning in context (function) and the sound system of the English language (phonology)
- Become familiar with teaching methodology for the classroom and online
- Receive practical teaching experience
- Gain language awareness in order to be able to teach English Language
- Receive individual feedback and support as well as group feedback throughout the course
- Form new friendships with students with similar goals from around the world in a collaborative and supportive online environment

Course Components
The course includes:
- Tech orientation sessions to familiarise yourself with the online platforms
- 120 hour course including 30 units of online learning
- 30 hours of online lesson planning, teaching practice, evaluation and feedback
- Teaching practice using Zoom under the guidance of a dedicated tutor at a time convenient for you
- 4 written assignments which range from formal language analysis to a study of teaching materials
- Access to community forums and expert feedback from qualified tutors
- 6 hours of live online observation, giving you the opportunity to see experienced teachers in action. These observations are complemented by specific observation tasks
Please note: The teaching practice sessions are generally Tue and Thurs 9:30am – 12:30pm or 6:30pm – 9:30pm, so trainees could do their 1 weekly teaching practice on either day. Times will be scheduled at the beginning of the course.
