Popular activities

Clifford's Tower

Clifford’s Tower

Clifford’s Tower stands on top of a large earth hill and is the largest remaining part of York Castle, built by William the Conqueror. It is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and costs very little to enter. Only minutes from the base of Clifford’s Tower you will find the beautiful River Ouse that runs through the city of York. You can walk along the river or enjoy a boat tour, which are both popular activities in the spring and summer months.

Bowling Bowls at a bowling alley

Bowling

Bowling is a frequent teacher-led activity in York and a great opportunity to meet new people, hang out with friends and practise English in real-life. A regular highlight, bowling is enjoyed by both adult students and teachers alike. Bowling shoes are provided and food is available to purchase, all you need to bring is yourself!
